APG is curating tasteful nude photography and provocative art with a sexual and artistic appeal. We are looking for unique, seductive and alluring artwork that are appropriate for collection and display.

Can I showcase my work at APG and on other websites/galleries at the same time?

Yes. Your working with APG is not exclusive and we would encourage you to showcase your work in live galleries.

APG cannot guarantee sales but it can guarantee exposure to your work. Artwork is carefully curated and selected for marketing and feature/showcase on our home page and other.

Account Management

How do I create an account with Art Provocateur Gallery?

To register an artist account at APG, click here and fill out the requested information. You can also click the 'Sell Your Art' link in the footer of the website.

Once you have registered, we will assess your work to see if it fits with our collection. You will be notified via email.

Is an account with Art Provocateur Gallery free?

There are two membership options:

Silver Membership at USD $19/month or $199/year

How do I log into my Art Provocateur Gallery account?

To log in to your account click here. You can also access this login page using the 'Artist Login' link in the footer of the website.

Is my personal information safe?

Yes. The personal information that you provide to Art Provocateur Gallery through the website or other will never be sold or made available to third parties. This includes your email address, residential address, telephone number and payment details.

How do I update my account information?

Log into your account and then click My Account > Personal Details or My Account > About You.

How do I change my password?

Log into your account and go to My Account > Change Password.

What if I forget my password?

On the login page, you will find the 'Forgotten Password' link. Once you click on it you will need to enter the email address associated with your account and click Reset. You will receive an email with a link to reset your password.

How do I ensure that my profile picture looks good?

Upload a profile photo that is 800px X 800px.

How do I close my account?

We need to close your account on our end so we can make sure to send you any outstanding earnings. Send a request to cancel your account to account@artprovocateur.com. Please include your full name, artist name, telephone number and the email address you use with your account for verification. We'll let you know once your account has been closed.

Selling at APG

What are the basics of selling my images through Art Provocateur Gallery?

1. Register an account
2. We approve the account
3. Upload your artwork, set quantities and your desired commission per sale

We then market, sell, produce, insure, ship, handle all customer service, and pay your commission per sale.

Do I have to sign an agreement with APG?

Yes. When you register an account you will be asked to agree to our Licensing Agreement.

Can I sell my work without model release forms?

No, you cannot sell your work without model release forms. When you agree to our Licensing Agreement you also agree to have a model release form for all artwork you submit for sale at APG.

Do I have to submit model release forms to APG?

No, we do not require you to submit model release forms.

How long will it take before I get paid?

The Art Provocateur Gallery return policy offers customers the right to indicate they want to return an order within 14 days of its receipt. After this 14 day guarantee, the order is considered "Complete" and your commission becomes available for payment. We send commission payments to artists every Wednesday (except public holidays).

What type of documents do I have to submit to work with you?

You do not have to submit any documents when you register to sell your work at APG. You will only need to provide some personal details about yourself for us to be able to send you commission payments and a short biography and profile picture for our customers can get to know you.

Who owns the Copyright to the images once they are uploaded to APG?

You own all copyrights to your image files and artwork. When you upload your images to Art Provocateur Gallery you retain all rights pertaining to those images. By uploading your images to Art Provocateur Gallery you provide us with a license to sell your work through the Art Provocateur Gallery website.

Are my image files safe with you?

Yes. Your pictures are absolutely safe with us.  At APG we go the extra mile to protect your property by doing the following:

1. When you upload your image files to APG servers, our system encrypts the image file names to prevent any unauthorized users from access
2. Your high-resolution images are converted to a much lower resolution for display on the APG website
3. When creating your products you can elect to have an APG watermark placed over your images when clicked for large preview
4. Right-click and save is disabled on product preview

Why is the agreement termination period 60 days?

The agreement termination period is 60 days to allow APG to complete any pending orders which include processing, production, shipping and allowing for the 14-day satisfaction guarantee period to pass. The process can range depending on production and shipping times. We chose 60 days to ensure that any and all orders are complete and final before we pay your last commission payment and consider our licensing agreement terminated.

How do I know when I've sold something?

You will be notified by email when one of your artworks is sold.

How do you promote Art Provocateur Gallery?

To attract as many visitors as possible, we promote Art Provocateur Gallery both on and offline by advertising through Google, SEO, press releases, social media and partner websites.  We also ask that our artists and publishing partners create links to product pages and promote the artwork to their audience.

How are my commission earnings paid? How often?

Sellers are paid via PayPal or wire transfer. If you elect to be paid by wire transfer, a $55 USD Administration Fee will be deducted from each transfer. Commission payments are paid every Wednesday following an order being set to 'Complete' status. Complete status means that the customers' 14-day satisfaction guarantee period has passed (28 days after the product has shipped).

Do I need to send you an invoice?

No you do not need to send us an invoice.

What if I don't have a PayPal account?

If you don't have PayPal, you can elect to have your commission payments wired directly to your bank account. Please note, there is a $55 USD Administration Fee deducted from each wire transfer.

Can I choose to get paid on a monthly or quarterly basis?

If you choose to use PayPal for payment, we do not offer the option to get paid monthly or quarterly. If you choose to use wire transfer, we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Do you pay me tax? How do I pay my taxes/VAT?

All artists are responsible for remitting their own taxes.

APG collects taxes on Canadian sales only and pays tax to Canadian artists on Canadian sales.  If you are a Canadian artist, you can save your HST number in your account profile and we will send you the tax collected on Canadian sales, with your commission payout.

What is the difference between Open and Limited Edition?

Open Edition is an unlimited number of prints.

Limited Edition is limited to a specified number. Once you state a quantity within a limited edition series, you cannot exceed this quantity in its production. Limited Edition often become collectors items and offer a higher value/price per unit.

Are there any censorships/boundaries?

No  sexual penetration. No genitalia.

Who determines the price to customers?

Prices are determined by you (licensor). When you set your commission rate, you will see the customer price and can make adjustments as you see fit. For more information about our pricing and commission structure, please download the Artist User Manual when logged into your account.

How do I set my commission?

You can set your commission during product setup, specifically for each artwork by material type and size. For more details on commission settings, please refer to the Artist User Manual available for download when logged into your account.

 
What are the technical requirements for images?

* Images should be high quality, largest NATIVE pixel dimensions.
* Do not UPSIZE or UPRES, we will take care of this for you.
* Files should be prepared as 8 bit RGB JPEGs with your working RGB color profile embedded.
* Save your JPEG files at the highest quality possible.
* Do not exceed 100MB per image.
* Do not add any watermark or copyright info.
* Photographers: Do NOT place a signature on the front side of your photo images.

How do I upload my images?

When you log into your account you will see two buttons: Upload Images Printed and Shipped by APG or Upload Images Produced and Shipped by Artist

Choose which button applies to the artwork you want to sell. Click on + Add More Files. Then select the images (up to 10) you want to upload and click Upload Images.

What file formats can I upload?

You can upload your image files in .jpg and .jpeg format.

How do I create a product?

Log into your account and go to Images > Create Your Products in the top menu.

What is the maximum file size per image?

The maximum file size is 100 MB per image.

Why were some of my images not approved for sale at APG?

If the artwork you submitted to APG was not approved, it may be due to one of the following reasons:

  • The style of the work is not suitable for the Art Provocateur brand
  • The model(s) looks too young
  • The model(s) looks amateur 
  • There is genitalia visible
  • There is sexual penetration visible
  • There are technical errors in the digital editing of the image
  • There is a name/logo stamp placed over the front of the image
Why are some of the images that I uploaded not visible in my list of created products?

If your image has a resolution of less than 6 megapixels it is automatically deleted.

Is there a minimum resolution required for my images?

The absolute minimum resolution required is 6 megapixels for an image that you want to sell through the website. For more information about image size and pixel to print ratios, download the Artist User Manual when logged into your account.

Can my metadata (EXIF) be read?

Yes it can. The title, description and keywords are automatically read from your metadata if you have entered it.

Can I upload multiple images at once?

Yes, you can upload up to 10 images at a time.

Can I put my own watermark on the images?

No, you can not have a private watermark on your images. APG uses the files you supply to print your work when a sale is made. Please ensure that your files are print ready. For more information about how to prepare your files, download the Artist User Manual when logged into your account.

To protect your images, APG adds a watermark to your image when it is clicked to enlarge.

Is there a maximum number of products I can create?

Yes. The number of works that you can offer through Art Provocateur Gallery depends on your seller status. This ensures that you choose your images wisely. For more information about 'Seller Status' please refer to the Artist User Manual, available for download when logged into your account.

Can I set my profit margin for each individual image/product?

Yes you can. You can do this while creating a product and editing it in the commission tab. Your profit per sale can be a dollar value ($) or percent (%) of cost.

How do I ensure that my images are found?

It is important to make optimal use of the tools you have available. So take the time to add your images in the appropriate categories, use the filters and tags, and provide a good description and product name.

What language should I use for my product name, description, and tags?

Please use the English language for all your submissions.

Can I disable a product (temporarily)?

Yes, you can disable a product (temporarily) by going to the top menu > Images > Product Overview. Here you will find a list of all your products. Select the product(s) you want to disable and click on the disable products button (blue button on the top). 

How do I keep track of inventory for a limited edition series if I sell my work in multiple galleries?

APG will manage inventory you make available for sale through the website, however, any inventory you have outside of our system are your responsiblility. If you sell one of the artwork you made available at APG, it is your responsiblity to mark it as 'Sold'.

Log into your account> Product Overview> Edit> Mark as Sold.
